The MGA Exoskeleton (MGAXOS) was demonstrated at the Fischell Bioengineer Festival held at the University of Maryland on April 21, 2009. MGAXOS is a 6-joint arm exoskeleton built by the Space System Laboratory at the University of Maryland for the ISIS Center as part of an Army project for shoulder therapy and stroke rehabilitation. Approximately 50 people attended the event where a variety of shoulder therapy exercises and functional training tasks were demonstrated. The MGAXOS is slated to be tested at the National Rehabilitation Hospital in late 2009. Please see the accompanying article for more details about the event.
